Significant equity investment fuels expansion of groundbreaking technology utilizing Far-UVC light that will enable a safer environment for a healthier society
August 11, 2020 (Melbourne, FL) -- Healthe®, the leader in developing and deploying sanitization, circadian and biological lighting solutions, today announced the completion of its latest financing round. Investors included both institutional funds and individual investors.
The financing round was led by Stephen Ross, Chairman and Founder of The Related Companies, a global real estate and lifestyle company with over $60 billion in assets owned or under development, including New York City’s Hudson Yards, the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States. Ross is an investor in Equinox® Fitness Clubs, Equinox Hotels and SoulCycle. He is also the majority owner of the Miami Dolphins. The funding will accelerate Healthe’s market expansion through new investment in sales, product development and marketing and unleash growth opportunities leveraging Healthe’s industry-defining technology and existing breadth of product offerings.
Mr. Ross commented: “Healthe’s Cleanse® family of products provides ongoing unparalleled sanitization of indoor spaces, and they can be an effective part of the new normal as the world truly begins to understand the need for greater hygiene standards. The valuable sanitization solutions that Healthe provides will facilitate a faster, more efficient and badly needed resumption of economic life. I look forward to investing my time and energy to helping make Healthe the clear leader in this vital – and fast-growing – industry.”
Other investors in Healthe’s latest funding rounds include:
“We have built a reputation over the past decade for developing innovative products using the power of light to significantly improve health and wellness ,” said Craig Cogut, Founder and CEO of Pegasus Capital Advisors, an investment firm focused on sustainability and human wellness sectors, which controls the largest investor in Healthe®. “Our world-class investor group recognizes the urgency of our current health crisis and the potential for future pandemics and the need to invest in real solutions, particularly in dense urban settings, that can bring us to a safer and healthier normal with resiliency. I am thrilled by the enthusiasm of our investors to provide strategic guidance to our management team based on their diverse C-suite experiences.”
Healthe recently announced an expanded suite of ready-to-deploy solutions that continuously sanitize public environments and can help people safely return to work, school, and cultural and other indoor gatherings. Many of Healthe’s Cleanse® products utilize Far-UVC light, which independent, peer-reviewed studies have shown to be as or more effective than conventional UVC light at inactivating pathogens including viruses and bacteria. Moreover, the same and other studies have shown that Far-UVC “can be safely used in occupied public spaces …… [and] it kills pathogens in the air before we can breathe them in.”
Healthe’s sanitization applications can be combined with the company’s circadian lighting products that help regulate the body’s internal clock, boost performance, enhance sleep and improve air quality. Healthe’s lighting solutions meet the federal safety standards set by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) and the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).
